The Highlander Newspaper is Back!

After laying dormant for over two decades, The Highlander school newspaper is back. Produced by the journalism class, the first issue contains feature stories, photographs and commentaries on topics relevant to our school community. In developing a design, we looked no further than The Highlander issues from the 1970s. Our staff decided to honor the classic look of the original layout and type-face and add some minor updates to modernize the aesthetic. The staff learned the fundamental skills of journalism, newspaper reporting and writing in the first term of the semester. In term 2, stories ideas were brain-storimed, researched, written, proofread, edited and published. Each issue will exist in both print and digital forms.
